How to blur kids' faces in a video before you post it

This walkthrough follows the current Baby Acrobatics editor at /blur-kids-faces. Use it when you want to cover moving faces in a short clip before you post.

Choose a compatible clip

Open an MP4, MOV, or WebM file. Playback and export depend on your browser and the codec inside the file. On iPhone, Safari is the intended browser. If a clip will not open, export an H.264 MP4 from Photos and try that copy.

The two-minute limit

The editor loads the first two minutes. Trim handles only work inside that loaded portion. They cannot reach a later part of a longer original. If you need a moment after the two-minute mark, trim that section on your device first, then open the shorter clip here.

Automatic detection

After you choose a file, the editor looks for faces on your device. Covers appear over the faces it finds. Detection can miss a turned head, a small face in the background, someone entering later, or a face that is briefly hidden.

Manual cover corrections

Add a cover if a face was missed. Move a cover that landed in the wrong place. Hide a cover you do not need. For a moving person, use Track face after the cover is on the head. Check the clip when someone turns, leaves the frame, or comes back.

Movement and temporary occlusion

A cover that looks right on the first frame can drift when the camera pans, when one person crosses another, or when a face disappears behind a shoulder and returns. Play the whole edited range. Pause on turns, entries, and any stretch where the cover sits beside the head instead of on it.

This page does not include a public before-and-after of a child. If you need a demonstration, use an adult who has agreed, or a synthetic clip, inside the editor itself.

Cropping a segment

Tap Crop under the play button. Drag the yellow handles to keep only the part you want to save. That selection stays inside the loaded two minutes. Saving does not process the rest of a longer original file.

Export and audio

Tap Save edited copy and keep the tab open until the file is ready. Open the saved video on your device. Confirm that audio is still there if you need it, and listen for spoken names. Face covering does not remove a voice.

Final review

Every face you meant to cover stays covered through the clip.
Background children are covered or cropped out.
Captions, stickers, and location tags are still your job on the app you post to.
The saved file is the one you attach. Do not post the original by habit.

Troubleshooting

File will not open: try a JPG for a still, or an H.264 MP4 for video.
A face is missed: add a cover manually and check the saved result.
A later moment is missing: the editor never loaded it. Trim first.
Export fails: try again, or try a shorter clip.
