To add that emoji in Instagram, you first select the original photo or video in Instagram. Editing here lets you keep that original out of the social app: cover the face, download the finished copy, then select the copy when you make your Story.
If your phone asks which photos Instagram can access, select only the edited file. The untouched original may be beside it in your library.

Stickers lets you use emojis without a background. Each graphic sits over the picture, which remains visible around its outline and through transparent gaps.
Choose Solid if you want to remove the facial pixels from your saved copy. Keep the whole face inside the circle throughout the video, including when the child turns or moves away. Anything outside that circle remains visible.

On iPhone and iPad, try the latest iOS or iPadOS available for your device. Safari and Chrome on iPhone share Apple's browser engine, so switching between them may not fix an opening problem.
On Android, try updating Chrome through the Play Store. On a laptop or desktop computer, use an up-to-date browser.
If the video still won't open, try another phone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer. Your original file stays on your device.
You can open JPG and PNG photos, and MP4, MOV or WebM videos. HEIC photos need a browser that can read them. If an iPhone photo or video won't open, try saving it as a JPG photo or an H.264 MP4 video first; the file's format and your browser both affect whether it can be read.
Tap Trim under the play button and drag the yellow handles around the part you want. The editor loads the first two minutes of a longer file. To use a later section, trim it on your device before opening it here. Follow the video steps →
Pause where the face is visible. Select Add censor for a missed face, position the cover, then use Track to follow it through the clip. For an existing cover, select it and adjust its position or size. The video guide explains changing one moment versus the whole tracked path. Watch the saved copy before posting, especially turns and people entering or leaving.
Listen to the saved video for names or places you meant to keep private. Look for school logos, house numbers and other children, then check the caption and who can see the post. Use the location-data guide to check the saved file, and the audio guide to remove spoken details.
