Good to know
An emoji can hide a face from people viewing your Story. But adding it inside Instagram means you have already given the app access to the original. A sticker is not a guarantee that only the covered version is processed.
Edit here first, save a copy, then select only that edited file in Instagram. Where your phone offers limited photo access, share only the copy. We cannot verify exactly what Instagram retains beneath every Story sticker.

Our mosaic option applies a blur followed by two pixelation passes. Blur uses a strong adjustable blur; emoji covers are drawn directly onto the image. All three are baked into the saved photo or video.
Those extra passes do not prove that a face is impossible to recover. Soft edges, incomplete coverage, or an uncovered video frame can still reveal detail. Review the saved copy, including the entire clip.

Add or adjust a cover in the editor. Check people entering the frame, turning sideways, and reappearing. Open the exported copy and review it before posting; automatic detection is not perfect.
Look for names, school logos, locations, other children, and spoken details. Face covering does not remove captions or guarantee metadata removal. A private account can still be screenshotted. Use the family privacy checklist →
